When you have a problem with your computer, especially if it is their own, the first thing you do is almost always analyzing its characteristics (both hardware and software). However, finding this information can sometimes be easier said than done. This is why; in this short article I will explain how to analyze the configuration of a PC on Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 or 8.1.
Although few are enough steps to find out some information related to the Windows operating system, to have a real full report on hardware and software features of a particular computer, sometimes it is better to resort to some specific software. Among these, Speccy is undoubtedly one of the best free programs available on the market because it allows you to analyze the configuration of a computer in a simple and effective. Moreover, in addition to the classic version with installer, Speccy is also offered in the most comfortable option portable (allowing, i.e. to be used without even having to install it). Once downloaded and then open the archive in ZIP, start the most appropriate version to the system to be analyzed (choosing between the 32-bit versions, simply called Speccy, and the 64-bit, calling instead Speccy64) and wait for the end of brief analysis.
As you can see for yourself, Speccy shows a simple window but, at the same time, very clear, in which, on the left, shows the main sections while on the right, are instead the details related to each section. Once then selected as the language (before clicking on the menu View, then Options, and finally, after selecting the language from the pulldown menu on OK), to have a complete picture of the system short enough to go in the first section Call Summary. Here you can see which version of the operating system, the model of CPU that is used, the amount of RAM installed the type of motherboard, video card and sound card are used in addition to the type of storage system and the specifications of any optical drives. If, however, you would like more information about any of these or other objects, simply instead simply click on its entry and in less than no time you can see all the information you need.
Speccy also allows you to save all information concerning the configuration of a specific computer just click first on the menu File and then on Save Snapshot…. So it is sufficient only to re-open the file with. Speccy (by voice Instant Upload … this always in the menu File) and short time, through any other computer, you can see again all information pertaining to that particular PC. Know, however, that, in addition to the proprietary format, Speccy can also create a report in the format called XML (which allows you to view the information gathered through a common browser) or, alternatively, also in the most common format .txt (which allows you to view the information gathered through a simple text file).
Once anyway at this point you should finally be able to analyze the configuration of a PC running any operating system such as Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 or 8.1.
