The most commonly used form of surface treatment for concrete is known as a surface impregnated coating. This simply means that the concrete surface has been covered with a protective coating that is applied over an indented steel surface to protect it from corrosion. These impregnated surfaces are available in two forms – in surface treated and bare surface treated. Both of these types of surface treatments have their own advantages, so it depends upon the job what type of treatment is best suited.
Bare surface treatments are usually the most affordable option, and they offer durability and the least amount of work involved. This is the least expensive way to complete the concrete finishing treatment process, but bare metal finishing treatments offer poor visual qualities compared to their metal counterparts. Most people prefer to use metal finishing treatment when they want to finish a raised area on a building or a fence. Such raised areas include areas such as porches, decks, patios, walkways, and railings. This is because such areas usually present more challenges to the finish due to the location of obstacles, such as surrounding walls or trees. In fact, such obstacles can even make the finished product look unsightly and therefore must be protected by a protecting layer that can be applied using bare metal finishing treatments.
On the other hand, surface treatments using a thermal sprayer, like the ones from Poeton, are used to protect all types of concrete surfaces regardless of their location. The sprayer machine can penetrate through most barriers and is thus ideal for use on raised areas. These thermal sprayers also provide extremely effective finishing properties, which means that they can finish any type of concrete even at very high temperatures. The sprayer coating does not require any additional treatment, so the finishing process can be completed right away.
