zanox, the leading results-based advertising network in Europe, has presented the results of its latest study on “Trends in online shopping at Christmas in the Retail and Travel sectors during the months of November and December 2011”.
For the realization of this study, zanox has had data from some of its advertisers and has analyzed the behavior of online users when making their Christmas purchases on these websites.
Its technological platform allows you to analyze purchasing trends not only from different periods but also from different areas and brands. In this sense, it offers a detailed analysis of the Retail and Travel sector. The study period includes the purchases made in the months of November and December 2011 and establishes a comparison with the same months of the previous year.
One of the main conclusions of the study carried out by zanox is that the online travel sector has increased its sales by just over 20% compared to last year. These figures are very similar to those of countries such as France and higher than those of Italy.
Both hotel reservations and vacation packages have maintained high growth rates compared to 2010, with the month of November standing out above December. It is in the section of the flights where the greatest growths have occurred in the year-on-year comparison with a slight decrease in the month of December 2011.
If we stop to analyze the Retail sector, the general growth in this Christmas period has reached 20% compared to 2010. These figures are a little lower than in Italy and better than in France.
The month of December 2011 is being very good especially in the electronics sector, which has seen its sales increase by 58.36% between November and December 2011.
