Twitter is possibly the social network that generates more disparate opinions in its performance story. Or you hooked from the beginning or feel a kind of lock in which you are unable to understand how it works, and most importantly, how you can help twitter in achieving your goals either as an individual, stand-alone or enterprise.
Measure the impact of your communications on twitter is not easy and as in all processes of digital analytics, you need to separate the wheat from the chaff and help of all you can summarize this hard work: to clarify the key performance indicators (KPI’s) that they have an impact on our goals, sort and group them to control it quickly.
How to measure your communications in twitter: The KPI’s largest
Well, once it said that the important measurements come from the hand of KPI’s, only lacking determines which are the important ones:
- Number of followers: The potential audience that has a mark on the social network is important but also noted that an exercise of “common sense” is needed to determine whether these followers were achieved according to the mark represented and also in line with the objectives. Malpractices in this regard would be buying followers, incentives unrelated to the sector (ipads …) or the product of a massive strategy of “follow-unfollow”.
- Ratio of “following-followers”: If what you want is to create branding and brand awareness is very interesting to get a spacing ratio as possible. That is a sign of authority on twitter.
- Retweets, mentions and favorites: These are pretty obvious. These interactions mean that no response from users who follow you and therefore raises the “engagement” (level of involvement). For references you can rely on a tool like SocialMention. The other can take your own twitter profile.
- Visits to your website or blog from twitter: At this point I recommend you do two measurements. The first is to look at google analytcis how they behave on your web visits from twitter. To do this, go to your account, you click on acquisition / all traffic / and then traffic twitter. With this you will see the quality of your visits (if you have set better goals).
And the second measuring about it is that you trackear clicks that have occurred on the links you share on twitter. I recommend that you do that with bitly.com tool. Here I leave a tutorial so you know how to make this type of measurement:
Do you think successful these KPI’s for twitter? I left one? All you’ve ever used?
