Yes, oddly enough, I decided to title this post in this way as a tribute to the dust that has awakened this week a study presented by the Organization of Consumers and Users, OCU, on the differences in milk quality that exist in the market and analyzing 47 brands of milk that are in any linear of any commercial area of our country.
From this report, the OCU discourages the consumer who does not buy 10 of those brands.
The first ten brands recommended are the following: Pascual (80 points); Farmer (79); Consum (78); Kaiku (77); Gallega (76); Delight (76); Carrefour (75); Muu (74); DAY (74); and Covap (73).
On the other hand, among the ten milks not recommended because they do not meet the most basic quality requirements, according to the OCU, they are: Altamira (30); Carrefour Discount (30); Condis (30); The Castle (30); Llet Nostra (30); Puleva (30); Ram (30); Reny Picot (30): Rio (30) and La Polesa (30).
As a result of the publication of the report a stir has been mounted because the reputation of the dairy sector was questioned, since among other things said study explains that the quality of the analyzed milk is worse than that analyzed 10 years ago and that has sulphured to the employers of the sector, Fenil, who has questioned the report and the OCU, according to the employers, ‘you do not know based on what criteria or tests have made their claims’. Curiously, if you visit the OCU website we find a link where they explain in detail how the study they have presented is done and based on what criteria they have followed to do it.
In all this ‘commercial war’ “has also left the Ministry of the Environment to ensure the rigor of the dairy sector in the application of the regulations for the ‘quality and safety guarantee'” of these products.
Before all this avalanche of information that we have been reading on the subject I am a little surprised and stunned because I do not know who to believe in this story, if I have to believe any of the parties.
I think an organization of the ‘caliber’ of the OCU makes me doubt that you can play your reputation, won for so long, issuing a study without any basis. I would be very surprised if it was not like that.
On the other hand, the dairy sector does not think that it has been a sector that has suffered a lot of damage to its reputation, so I do not see that it wants to play its reputation on such a sensitive issue as quality in food aspects.
In short, we will see how this story ends, as the employers have announced that they will take legal action against the OCU. It is very good to defend yourself, but you have to be prepared to face situations.
